W. A. Mozart - Piano concerto in d minor

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the 1st movement of the Piano concerto in d minor written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and – concerning this analysis – to find out what the main elements of this music are. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis is not only to analyse the composition, but also to discover basic information about it to help interprets play the concerto in the right way.
After the opening part, that concerns with Mozart’s works in general and the extraordinariness of the concerto in d minor, there is a vast analysis of the individual musical elements, which contains generalization of the previously described musical speech concerning each particular musical element.
The final part stems from the finding of the analysis and describes how to apply them into the interpretation. The author also uses four recordings to analyse and compare them to stress the previously declared statements. In conclusion the author generalizes all the achieved pieces of knowledge, theoretical as well as practical, to enable their utilization in practice.

Piano Preludes by A.N. Scriabin

This work focuses on describtion and analysis of Preludes by A.N.Scriabin. During his life, Scriabin composed 90 preludes. These pieces can be divided in 3 periods - early, middle and late period.
The differences between these periods of time are connected to a transition from being a composer to being a philosopher. The development of his philosophical thoughts are described in a chapter called Composer - Philosopher. In chapter three, I concentrate on the influence by F. Chopin in Scriabins early years. I also compare their 24 preludes.
The further development of harmony and motive structure is discussed in the last chapter. An analysis of his last composition - 5 preludes op. 74, is included.
Analysis of Scriabins preludes is influenced by my personal experience - in that I see the biggest contribution of my thesis.

Piano Concerto by Antonín Dvořák

The main goal of this thesis the introductiom to the czech romantic piano literature. The first part contains a brief introduction to the origins and analysis from the musical perspective. In chapter two I concentrate on the technical and phonic parameters of the work. Apart from Dvorak's solo piano excerpts, one can take notice of excerpts from the revided version done by Vilem Kurz - and confrontation of both. There are 4 groups in which the main differences between the two versions are divided. The last chapter contains a summary of performance experience by interviews with famous pianists - Ivan Klansky, Martin Kasik and Ivo Kahanek.

Using compositional techniques in the work of Ligeti as a source of inspiration for my own compositional work ( focusing on piano music)

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the issue of Ligeti’s compositional techniques in general and with special focus on his piano works in periodical manner. Thesis contains analyzes of piano works, mainly Musica Ricercata and selected Piano Etudes, compares Musica Ricercata and Bartók’s Microcosm to which whole chapter is assigned later in this work. Thesis also mentions the importace of Ligeti’s work in Cologne and his acquaintance with key figures of the European avant-garde of that time, with Karlheinz Stockhausen in particular.
At the end of this thesis we adress author’s own bachelor composition Dream for piano and chamber orchestra, which in some ways uses the same techniques Ligeti used in his piano etudes.

INTERPRETATION ASPECTS OF CHOPIN’S B MINOR SONATA

The main aim of the thesis is to give a conclusive view of the current interpretation state of Frédéric Chopin’s sonata in B minor, op. 58. A brief formal analysis is provided as well as further study hints. The main part focuses on interpretation difficulties such as edition choice, composition style in contrast to interpretation approaches and fulfilment of the opus by famous pianists.

F. Chopin - Scherzi and the great pianists

This thesis is divided into 2 parts. In the first one I will marginally describe Chopin's life, although many pages about his life have been written - thus I will concentrate on basic biographical facts with an emphasis on the period in which those particular Scherzi were written. I will also describe scherzo as a musical form, its origin and structure. The last subchapter of the first part reveals scherzi in other pieces (sonatas etc.). The second part concentrates on interpretation, I will also analyze several recordings of famous pianists with their personal profiles included.

Francis Poulenc - Piano work

My bachelor’s thesis titled "Francis Poulenc - piano work" is divided into
three main chapters. The first chapter focuses on the composer's life in the
contemporary context. The project also covers mention artistic tendencies in
France during the 20th century and the associated art group Les Six . The second
chapter briefly describes Poulenc's piano language, its expressive and technical
resources. I deal mainly with individual works, their history, complements the
Czech translation of French titles at the complex. For some enclose a
recommendation for the degree of maturity of the piano are determined. In the
third chapter, I mention a chronological overview of solo, chamber and orchestral
piano works . Using this job, I would like to draw attention to the piano works of
Francis Poulenc , which is not broached in concert programs on Czech stages.
